Agnès de FRUMERIE (1869-1937) - Sweden

In 1891 she leaves the Royal Academy of Free Arts in Stockolm for Berlin, then, in 1892 she settles down in Paris and gets to know Auguste RODIN. In 1893 she is a member of the National Society of Fine Arts and meets there Adrien DALPAYRAT. Character differences soon put an end to this collaboration. Shortly after, she starts a collaboration with Edmond LACHENAL. The ensuing results, very much appreciated by the critics of the time, achieve an enormous success. At that time her participations in the salons and other exhibitions are very numerous.
Beside her china sculptures, earthenware and bronze, her talents lead her likewise to create models in silver and pewter. In April 1930 she leaves France to settle down in Hindas (Sweden) where she mainly makes pieces in pâte. In 1935 she bequeaths an important collection of furniture, glass, sculptures, plasters and paintings to Läns Museum in Skaraborg.
